PIN1 code/PIN2 code
■ Default:0000
These codes are set to the UIM.
PIN1 code is a 4- to 8-digit number and must be entered every time you insert the UIM into
the FOMA terminal or turn on the power. PIN2 code is a 4- to 8-digit number that you enter
when
using or reque
sting user certificates or performing tasks such as resetting total call
charges. If you enter an incorrect PIN1/PIN2 code three times in a row, the PIN1/PIN2 code
is locked and cannot
be used any more (remaining allowable counts appear on the screen).
After y
ou enter the correct PIN1/PIN2 code, the number of times for entry is reset to three.
You can change the number.

・ To change the PIN1 code, set "PIN1 code entry set" to "ON".
PIN unblocking key (PUK)
PIN unblocking key (PUK) is an 8-digit number used to unlock PIN1 or PIN2. The PIN
unblocking key (PUK) cannot be changed.

If the wrong PIN unblocking key (PUK) is entered ten times in a row, the UIM is then
completely locked. In this case, contact a docomo Shop Service Counter.

Notes on the security codes
・
When setting a security code, avoid using personal information such as date of birth, telephone
number, street address/room number, "1111" and "1234" that may be guessed by a third party.
Keep records of y
our security codes.
・
Keep your security code private. If the security code is disclosed to others and abused, DOCOMO
shall have no liability for any damage due to any unauthorized use of it.
・
If you have forgotten your security codes, please bring your FOMA terminal, UIM and official
documents that verify your identity, such as a driver's license, to a docomo Shop Service Counter.

Your PIN unblocking key (PUK) is written on application form (copy for customer), which a
docomo Shop gives you at time of subscription. If you have subscribed at a retailer other than
the docomo Shop

er's license, to a docomo Shop Service Counter, or contact "General Inquiries" on the last
page of this manual.
