Operation Manual

Using the Bluetooth® Function
To secure the Bluetooth communication
security, the FOMA terminal supports the
secu
rity function compliant with Bluetooth
stan
dards, but the security may not be sufficient
depe
nding on the setting. Concern about the
communication using the Bluetooth func
tion.
Please be aware th a t DOCO M O is not
responsible for data leak when making data
communications using Bluetooth.
You can use a headset, handsfree, audio, dial-
up communications, object push and serial
port on the
FOMA terminal. The audio/video
remo
te control may be available for audio.
(Only on compa
tible Bluetooth devices)
Frequency band
The following are frequency bands that the FOMA
terminal's Bluetooth function uses:
2.4
The radio equipment uses the 2400MHz band.
FH
Modulation scheme is the FH-SS system.
1
The estimated interference distance is 10 m or less.
The full band between 2400 MHz and 2483.5
MHz is used and the band of the mobile
identification device cannot be a
voided.
n
Bluetooth cautions
The operating frequency band of this equipment is
used by industrial, sc
ientific, consumer and medical
equipment including microwave ovens, premises
radio stations
for identifying mobile units used in the
manu
facturing lines of plants (radio stations requiring
a li
cense), specified low power radio stations (radio
stat
ions requiring no license) and amateur radio
stations (hereinaft
er referred to as "another station").
1.
Before using this terminal, confirm that
"another station" is not being operat
ed nearby.
2.
In the event of this terminal causing harmful
radio wave interference with "another stations",
promptly change the
operating frequency or stop
radio wav
e emission by turning off the power, etc.
3.
If you have further questions, please contact
"General Inquiries" on the last page of this manual.
Using Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Wireless LAN ( WLAN) uses radio waves to enable
communications between compatible devices, thus
allowing connection to a local area network from anywhere
within range. However, there is a risk of data interception
by malicious third parties unless security is established
.
Use
rs are advised to assess their responsibilities and
accordingly configure security settings.
Wireless LAN
Do not use wireless LAN near magnetic devices such as
electrical appliances or AV/OA devices, or in radio waves.
Magnetism or radio waves may increase noises or disable
communications (especially when using a microwave oven).
When used near TV, radio, etc., reception interference may
occur, or channels on the TV screen may be disturbed.
If there are multiple wireless LAN access points nearby and
the same channel is used, search may not wor
k correctly.
Frequency band
Frequenc y band use d by W LAN device s is
indicated on the battery storage section. The
following are the descr
iptions:
2.4 The radio equipment uses the
2400MHz band.
DS
Modulation scheme is the DS-SS system.
OF
Modulation scheme is the OFDM system.
4 The estimated interference distance
is 40 m or less.
The full band between 2400 MHz
and 2483.5 MHz is used and the
band
of the mobile identification
device cannot be avoided
.
Available channels vary depending on the country.
For use in an aircraft, contact the airline beforehand.
There are some regions or areas in the world in
which WLAN is not usable. If you use WLAN overseas,
you should k
now what frequencies will be available,
and about laws and regula
tions befor
ehand.
