6. Precautions for Use Near
Electronic Medical Devices

WARNING
Do
Take care of the following inside hospitals.
Do not take your FOMA terminal into an
operating room, intensive care unit (ICU),
or coronary care unit (CCU).
Turn off the power inside hospital wards.
Turn off the power even in hospital lobbies,
waiting rooms, and corridors if electronic
medical devices may be in use near you.
For use inside medical institutions, please follow
the instructions given at individual locations.
If the Auto power function is set, make sure to
disable the function before turning off the po
wer.
Do
Turn off the power in crowded places such
as peak-hour trains if implanted pacemakers
and ICDs may be in use near you.
Radio waves emitted by the FOMA terminal
may adversely affect implanted pacemakers
and ICDs when used in close proximity
.
Do
A person with an implanted pacemaker or ICD
should use or carry the FOMA terminal at a distance
more than 22cm from the site of implantation.

Do

Precautions for Viewing 3D Images
CAUTION
Don't
If you have a history of photosensitive
epilepsy or heart disease or you are
unwell or suffering from fatigue,
insomnia or the eff
ects of alcohol, you
should refrain from vie
wing 3D images.
Doing so may aggravate your condition.
Do
If images appear double while viewing
3D images or if you find it difficult to
observe the 3D effect, stop using.
Continued viewing may cause eye fatigue.
Do
If you experience fatigue or discomfort
(symptoms similar to travel sickness)
while viewing 3D images, stop using.
Continued viewing may make you feel unwell.
Take an appropriate break from viewing.
Particular care is required when viewing
3D images in a train or car or any other
envi
ronment where the screen is likely to shake.
Do
Viewing 3D images is not recommended
for children below the age of about seven.
A child's reaction to fatigue or discomfort when
viewing 3D images may be hard to recognize
and the child may suddenly become unwell
.
