These parameters may be set individually for line 1 or line 2.
The user may also select the state (enabled or disabled) of the G.703 clock
output when the multiplexer is free running via G.703 Clk o/p menu.
2) F code
This will allow the on-going data in each timeslot and associated
signalling to be determined should the source data fail. The data may be
set individually for line 1 and line 2. Note: ''F' Codes are overwritten with
FFH when the respective timeslot is a multipoint timeslot.
3) Bypass
The bypass condition for the lines, i.e. connecting line 1 to line 2, or for the
clock, i.e. connecting clock I/P to clock O/P may be set. If set to enabled,
the Line or Clock circuits will be permanently bypassed for that
configuration. The normal setting is disabled which will allow the circuits
to automatically switch to 'Bypass' should the card fail, be removed or
during power failure.
4) Mode
Three modes of operation may be set. If firmware DT986/6 is fitted to the
Dual LIU, additional options are provided for each mode to set the routing
for the TS0 'Not Frame alignment Word' (NFW) There are 8 options
which are fully described in section 3.1.1.
1 Multipoint.
This will connect all timeslots and signalling through from line 1 to line 2,
and provide the facility to multipoint additional timeslots from the
multiplexer switch, or to drop and insert individual timeslots from either
line to the multiplexer switch. Line 1 and line 2 must be in the same
signalling mode, i.e. CAS or CCS. Fault logging may also be individually
enabled or disabled for line 1 or line 2.
If fault logging is disabled, faults will not be reported from that line signal
and may be used if a line is to be taken out of service. If multiframe
linking is selected, the delay between multiframes received on line 1 and
transmitted on line 2 will be minimised. Similarly, the delay between
multiframes received on line 2 and transmitted on line 1 will be
minimised.
Note: When multiframe linking is enabled, incoming frame slips will
cause multiframe re-alignment and Frame Sync loss may occur
