5.4.2 Editing and Displaying Channel Configurations
Commands are provided to allow the operator to 'Load' either a previously
edited configuration field or the default into an edit buffer. The edit buffer
is where all changes are made by using the 'Modify' command, and is the
‘configuration’ viewed by the ‘Display’ command. After editing, another
menu selection is provided for 'Saving' the buffer into a system
configuration. If the save is into a configuration field that is already
running, then the operator will be prompted to continue or abort. If
continuing, the configuration is saved and run immediately.
(CC) Current | Run | Edit | Alarm event >E

After loading the desired configuration in to the edit buffer, the operator
may select the 'Modify' or 'Display' command in order to modify or display
its contents. In order to check where the last edit buffer load was made
from, the 'Origin' option is provided.
Timeslot allocation and routing through the multiplexer is carried out in
two separate stages:
i) Timeslots from the Port in which the card is inserted have to be
assigned to the relevant circuit on the card, using the 'Assigned
cct' command.
ii) These timeslots may be routed through the switch to any
destination using the 'Cross Connect' menu option. (Refer to
Figure 1-1).
