X723-300151 5-11 Issue 2
Note that the following two items relate to a DomainView feature for
collecting statistics, and do not affect the general operation of the
multiplexer. For normal operation with NCS, these features must be
disabled.
1 Network CRC Upload enabled (0=disable, 1=enable) >
Network CRC Upload Timer Offset 300 (180 to 720) >
This enables and disables the CRC4 upload function in the node.
When enabled, at the end of every 15 minutes (on the hour, quarter
past the hour etc) CRC4 analysis cycle, the node will signal to NCS
that it has the CRC statistics for all the Dual LIUs fitted in the node.
This will trigger the NCS to immediately request the data. In larger
networks, it is advisable to stagger these ‘uploads’ to prevent networks
being clogged with the CRC4 upload data from all the nodes. The
Upload Timer Offset sets the delay in seconds from the 15 minute
boundary to when the node signals it has CRC data available. In this
way, it is possible to arrange that all the nodes do not signal
simultaneously CRC data available.
2 Network C/D Upload enabled (0=disable, 1=enable) >
Network C/D Auto Clear enabled (0=disable, 1=enable) >
This enables and disables the C/D upload function in the node. This is
normally a once per day event controlled by the NCS. When enabled,
on receipt of the C/D command from NCS, it uploads all the Counts
and Durations information from all the Dual LIUs fitted. When
disabled, this command is ignored. If the auto clear is enabled, the
Dual LIU automatically clears down all counts and durations after
they have been read by NCS.
Power Monitoring
The power units in the 3000 power supply equipment can be monitored to
indicate a fault on failure, this will occur if 'fitted' is selected. The
operator should select 'fitted' when 2 power supplies are intended to be
fitted in the chassis.
The -48VDC required for some channel interface cards and ringing
generators is also monitored; if this is not used it should be set to 'absent'.
Management Configuration
The Baud rate for network management must be specified for each port,
normally this is 1200, but must be set to the same baud rate as the NCS.
