iv) Refit new system controller.
v) No more change-overs or removals should be attempted until the 2
minutes is completed and the off-line system controller has received
all of its configuration data from the on-line system controller. This is
indicated on the off-line system controller by the top red LED
illuminating while configuration data is being transferred, and then
extinguishing when all configuration data has been passed. If the 2
minute time-out should expire and the off-line controller is then
refitted, it is possible that some data loss will occur.
Note: Removal of a working 'on-line' card in a live system will cause data
loss and may cause a momentary change in the state of the Prompt,
Service, System and External relays.
2.3.3 Switch on Procedures
Connect a VDU, set so as to be compatible with the settings made on SW1,
to the local port. Switch on the multiplexer. On initial power up, the
3200 will automatically enter self test mode. The self test procedure
varies, depending upon the number of system controllers fitted.
Single System Controller operation:
Upon power up the 3200 will carry out a full self test.
Dual System Controller operation:
Upon power up the main system controller will carry out a full self test. If
any part of this self test fails the Standby system controller will take
control. On power up the Standby system controller will carry out an
internal self test and then wait for a change over from the Main system
controller. If the standby self test fails, it will report a failure back to the
Main system controller.
Self Test Mode
The unit incorporates a self test facility which is activated either at power
up or from menu selection and runs for a period of 8 seconds. The test will
set the following conditions:
a) Illuminate all LEDs on the on-line system controller.
b) Set all alarm relays except the System relay.
c) Run a self test configuration.
d) Each LIU fitted will have its relays set to bypass and PCM looped.
e) Sync source will be derived from the free running VCO clock.
