Standby Operation
When the standby system controller has received all configuration
information required to take control, it will configure itself and then wait
for control. All configuration and set-up data will be passed to the standby
system controller except for:-
i) Maintenance test information (loops, and set data)
ii) Network messages
iii) Fault logging information
iv) Current sync source
Two menu options are provided under (!MSR) 'Maint' - 'System' -
'Redundant':
Off-line Command (!MSR0)
Using the 'Offline' command from the on-line card, will cause that system
controller to be switched off-line and the off-line system controller to be
switched on-line.
If the on-line card is unable to pass control to the off-line card a message
'Offline system controller not responding'
will be displayed and no further action will take place.
If the off-line system controller is not present , the message
'Offline system controller not fitted'
will be displayed to the user, and the original system controller will
remain on-line.
If the off-line system controller is receiving data from the on-line system
controller the following message will be displayed.
'Offline system controller configuring'
The operator should wait for the off-line system controller to finish
configuring, indicated by the Miscellaneous LED on the off-line system
controller extinguishing, and then re-try the 'Offline' command.
Note: Switching from 'Main' to 'Standby' or 'Standby' to 'Main' will cause
a momentary glitch on the external relays.
