Servicing Engine Belt
When the belt is loose enough, remove the
belt by pulling it off the engine sheave and
then the jackshaft sheave. Removing the
belt from the engine sheave first should be
easier because of the size of the sheave.
Replace the engine belt.
After replacing the engine belt, reposition
the engine by loosening the inside jam nuts
and then turning the outside jam nuts to pull
the engine back into position. Turn one
adjustment bolt’s jam nut a small amount
and then turn the other adjustment bolt’s jam
nut the same amount; working back and
forth making adjustments until the engine
has been moved enough to tighten the belt.
