and positive expiratory pressure (PEP) devices provide consistent
and specific pressure, regardless of how quickly or slowly patients
breathe. Threshold
®
devices incorporate flow-independent one-way
valves to ensure consistent resistance and feature adjustable specific
pressure settings.
The Pflex
®
inspiratory muscle trainer is designed to provide a resistance
that exercises respiratory muscles through conditioning in order to
increase strength. Resistance is controlled by changing the device’s
dial selector, which provides six different levels of resistance.
