Use of Vinegar You can also use white vinegar to descale the inside. Fill the kettle with 2 cups of water (16 oz) and add 6 tablespoons of white vinegar. Bring to a boil. Discard the solution and repeat if necessary. Rinse the kettle once or twice with fresh cold water.
