Operating instructions
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken,
including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons, DO NOT IMMERSE
CORD, PLUG, OR POWER BASE UNIT in water or other liquids.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliances by a person responsible for their safety.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting
on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not use harsh abrasives, caustic cleaners or oven cleaners when cleaning this
appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest
authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Capresso may result in fire,
electric shock, or injury to persons.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Always use the appliance on a dry level surface.
11. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
13. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
14. Always fill the kettle first, then set the appliance onto the power base, and finally
plug cord into outlet. To disconnect, remove kettle from Power Base, then remove
plug from wall outlet.
15. Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.
16. Always make sure that lid is closed during operation. Scalding may occur when lid is
open during operation.
17. To avoid scalding, never fill pot above the "MAX" line marking on the kettle.
18. Extreme caution must be used when moving the kettle containing hot water.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
1. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or
tripping over a long cord.
2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
3. If an extension cord is used,
a. the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance, and
b. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
2.
