Basic Functions
Turning the Power On/Off
Press the main switch until the green
power lamp lights.
• The upper indicator beside the
viewfinder eyepiece will flash green.
• The lens will extend when the mode
dial is turned to the
, , or
position.
• The lens will retract approximately 1
minute after the mode dial is turned
to
from any other mode.
• When the mode dial is set to the
,
or position, the LCD monitor
will turn on regardless of its On/Off
status.
Press the main switch again to turn off
the power.
• The Set Date/Time menu will appear the first time the camera is
turned on. Please set the date and time (p. 21).
• If the auto power down function activates, press the main
switch again to restore power.
