60 Shooting - Selecting Particular Effects
Setting the Shutter Speed
When you set the shutter speed in the shutter speed-priority AE mode, the camera
automatically selects an aperture setting to match the brightness. Faster shutter
speeds allow you to catch an instantaneous image of a moving subject while
slower speeds create a flowing effect.
1
Turn the mode dial to .
The shutter speed will show in the display
panel. It will also appear in the LCD monitor or
viewfinder if it is on.
2
Press the or arrow on the omni
selector to select a speed.
3
Shoot the image.
The correct exposure has been set if the shutter
speed and aperture settings do not blink in the
display panel.
If the aperture value is flashing or shown in red, the image is
under- or overexposed (insufficient light). Adjust the shutter
speed using the
or arrow on the omni selector until the
flashing stops or the aperture value display turns to white.
