PowerShot Technology
MY CATEGORY*
This feature is a handy time-saver and organizational
tool that lets you, in select PowerShot models,
categorize still images and movies. Entire categories
(select from up to 7) can then be played, printed,
erased or protected.
MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT**
Select from a number of different languages for
on-screen menu text. The interface choices may
include English, German, French, Dutch, Danish,
Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish,
Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean,
Russian, Portuguese, Greek, Polish, Czech, Hungarian,
Turkish, Thai, Arabic, Romanian, and Ukrainian.
SLIDE SHOW*
Newer PowerShot
cameras offer the
convenience of
viewing captured
images and movies
as a Slide Show on
the camera’s LCD screen. You can individually
choose which images and movies to include or
select them by date or folder.
SOUND MEMOS
While viewing images in Playback mode, users can
speak into the camera to record sound memos up to
60 seconds per image. It’s great for making technical
notes or creating audio captions for future reference.

NIGHT DISPLAY FUNCTION
When you are shooting at dusk or at night, Night
Display function lets you see the LCD screen clearly.
It brightens the object by reducing the frame rate
on the LCD screen.
FOLDER MANAGEMENT
With Folder Management, you can organize images
stored on memory cards in folders. File names can
be numbered continuously or reset with the creation
of each new folder, and the camera can be set to
create a new folder at a specified time every day,
week or month.* That way, when downloading a
large number of files, you know where to find the
images you want.
IMAGE RESIZING*
Image Resizing reduces the number of recording
pixels during playback. This is a perfect in-camera
control for uploading images to your website/blog
or sending images via email without downloading
the images to modify the size in your computer.
Resizing sizes are M3 (1600 x 1200), S (640 x 480)
or XS (320 x 240).
MAGNIFIED PLAYBACK*
During playback, images on the LCD screen can be
magnified to reveal greater detail. You can zoom
into the image with magnifications ranging from
2x to 10x and can scroll vertically or horizontally
to view any part of the frame. Even after you
have magnified an image, you can view the next
image or previous image without first returning
to the original size.
Easy-to-use guidelines simplify
the shooting of aligned multiple
frames that can later be com-
bined (using bundled software)
to create panoramic photos.
