6. Transferring, Organizing and
Renaming Photos
Airborne Photographers must know how to transfer their photos onto a computer and
review photos on a monitor to ensure mission objectives were met.
The Videography Information Technology (VIT) Specialist must be able to transfer
photos, organize the photos in mission folders, and rename the photos for ease of
identification and retrieval. The VIT Specialist also needs to know how to backup and
archive mission photos.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Discuss how to transfer photos to a computer.
Transfer several photos from a camera to a computer using the
camera’s cable and via a media card reader. [AP-O-002; VIT-O-001]
2. Discuss the importance of organizing and renaming photos. Then:
[VIT-O-001]
a. Set up a mission photo folder on a computer
b. Transfer several photos into this folder
c. Rename each photo
d. Backup the photos to a CD or thumb drive
3. Discuss the purpose of watermarking photos.
Describe what data must be recorded to complete the image processor
datasheet. [AP-O-002]
Demonstrate use of the CAP Image Processing program. [VIT-O-001]
Demonstrate how to view photos, enter photo data, and upload a photo
into WMIRS. [AP O-002; VIT-O-001]
