5.7.7 MODEM, NCU Tests

The Modem and NCU Test menu is selected by pressing the numeric key 4 or and from the test mode menu.
These tests test modem and NCU transmission and reception. The modem tests check whether signals are sent
correctly from the modem by comparing the sound of the signals from the speaker with the sounds from a normal
modem. Also, you check on the display whether or not the modem correctly detected received tone signals and
DTMF signals.
End this test by pressing the Stop/Reset key.

a) Frequency test
The frequency test menu is selected by pressing the numeric key 2 or and keys from the MODEM NCU test
menu. Signals of the frequencies below are sent from the modem using the modular jack and the speaker. The
frequency can be changed with the numeric keys.

The transmission levels for each frequency follow the service data transmission level settings.
Modem test type Overview
Frequency test The modem sends tonal signals from the modular jack and the speaker.
G3 signal transmission test The modem sends G3 signals from the modular jack and the speaker.
V.34 G3 signal transmission test The modem sends V.34 G3 signals from the modular jack and the
speaker.
