IMPORTANT
• NB-W2 contains components that are sensitive to static electricity.
Observe the following precautions when handling NB-W2 to prevent
damage from static electricity.
-Touch a metal object to dissipate static electricity before handling it.
-When handling it, do not touch anything that generates static electricity
such as a computer display.
-Do not touch the NB-W2 parts, printed wire, or connectors with your
hands.
-To prevent NB-W2 from being affected by static electricity, keep it in the
protective bag until it is ready to be installed. The protective bag is
required after NB-W2 is removed. Keep the protective bag. Do not
discard it.
• You cannot use NB-W2 simultaneously with the network interface
(standard network) the printer has.
Specify the interface to be used in PRIMARY NETWORK in EXTENSION
CARD in the INTERFACE MENU options in the SETUP menu. For more
details, see User's Guide supplied with NB-W2.

Turn the printer and computer OFF a, remove the USB
cable b, and then disconnect the power plug from the AC
power outlet c.
IMPORTANT
Be sure to turn the printer OFF before inserting or removing NB-W2. If you
insert or remove NB-W2 while the power of the printer is ON, this may
result in damage to NB-W2 and the printer.

Remove all the interface cables and the power cord from
the printer.
If there is not sufficient space to install the NB-W2, move the printer to a place
where you can work easier.

Remove the screws and remove the protective plate for the
expansion slot.
NOTE
• The removed protective plate and screws are required when NB-W2 is
removed. Be sure not to misplace them.
