The Canon iPF710 print driver must be installed on this computer as well as
on all workstation computers. The service technician will also load the two
scanning software applications on the computer. The CopySmart software
requires a USB-connected security dongle, which comes with the software;
the SmartLF software does not.
 The SmartLF software offers colour, grayscale and black copy, scan-to-le
and e-mail functions. Although this application generated good overall
results, BLI focused its evaluation on Colortrac’s CopySmart software pro-
gram, based on that program’s superior image quality and colour manage-
ment.
 The CopySmart software application offers users four distinct advantages
over the SmartLF software—the ability to create colour proles for the scan-
ner, printer and various media, the ability to crop and/or re-size the docu-
ment before output, the ability to make colour adjustments using various
colour tools and the ability to scan to le and print simultaneously, all of
which are easy to initiate. Its only drawback compared to the SmartLF soft-
ware is that it does not offer scan-to-e-mail capability.
