Polling receiving
With this feature, your machine can call another fax machine and request that it sends a
document to it; in other words, it “polls” that fax machine.
NOTE
Your machine can only poll fax machines that support polling.
The document you want to retrieve must be ready to be polled on the other party’s fax machine.
If the other party is using a Canon fax machine that has the Polling ID feature, ask them to set the Polling
ID of their fax to 255 (1111 1111 binary).
You can poll several fax machines in one operation. Each polling operation can retrieve documents from
as many as 109 fax numbers.
Follow this procedure to poll another fax machine(s):
1 Press [Fax].
2 Press [Polling].
3 Enter the fax numbers you want to poll using any of the following methods:
One-touch speed dialing: Press the one-touch speed dialing key(s).
Coded speed dialing: Press [Coded Dial], then use the numeric keys to enter the
two-digit code(s).
Regular dialing: Use the numeric keys to enter the fax number, then press [OK].
To delete an entry, press and hold [2].
To review the numbers you have entered, use [2] or [3].
4 Press [Start].
