ON All transmissions are conducted with ECM if the other party's fax
supports ECM.
OFF ECM is turned off.
2. PAUSE TIME Sets the length of the pause you insert into a dialing sequence.
1SEC to 15SEC (2SEC)
3. AUTO REDIAL Sets whether to perform automatic redial when the other line is busy or
no answer.
ON Customizes the redial operation.
1. REDIAL TIMES Sets the number of retries.
1TIMES to 10TIMES (2TIMES)
2. REDIAL INTERVAL Sets period of time between redialings.
2MIN. to 99MIN. (2MIN.)
OFF After the first attempt at dialing fails, redialing is not attempted.
4. TIME OUT Enables/disables automatic scanning of documents after the fax number
is entered.
ON Scanning begins automatically in 5 or 10 seconds after you enter the fax
number.
OFF Press [Start] to scan document. Otherwise, AUTO CLEAR function
activates and the LCD returns to standby display after 1 minute. (See
Chater 10, “Machine Settings,” in the Basic Guide.)
5. RX SETTINGS Sets the reception functions.
1. ECM RX The ECM (Error Correction Mode) reception is turned on or off.
ON All receptions are conducted with ECM if the other party's fax supports
ECM.
OFF ECM is turned off.
2. FAX/TEL OPT. SET If you select <FaxTel> as the receive mode, customizes its settings.
1. RING START TIME Selects the time the machine takes to check whether a call is a fax or
voice call.
0SEC to 30SEC (6SEC)
2. F/T RING TIME Selects the ring length for voice calls.
15SEC to 300SEC (15SEC)
3. F/T SWITCH ACTION Selects whether the machine switches to receive mode after the ring
time has elapsed, or whether if disconnects the call.
RECEIVE, DISCONNECT
3. DRPD:SELECT FAX Selects the ring pattern for fax calls.
NORMAL RING, DOUBLE RING, SHORT-SHORT-LONG,
SHORT-LONG-SHORT, OTHER RING TYPE
4. INCOMING RING Sets whether the telephone rings when it receives a voice call, enabling
you to answer the call. This function is only available when the fax
receive mode is set to <FaxOnly>.
OFF The telephone does not ring when it receives a voice call.
ON The telephone rings when it receives a voice call if a telephone is
connected.
RING COUNT Sets the number of incoming rings. The telephone will be disconnected
after the specified times.
