FAX SETTINGS
Name Descriptions
1. RECEIVE MODE Sets how the machine receives fax and telephone calls.
FaxOnly
The machine automatically receives faxes, all calls will be answered as fax
transmission. Voice calls will then be disconnected.
FaxTel
The machine automatically switches between fax and voice calls. Fax will
be received automatically, and the machine will ring for voice calls.
AnsMode The machine receives documents automatically and the answering
machine records voice calls.
DRPD The machine distinguishes fax and voice calls by using Distinctive Ring
Pattern Detection and lets you know if the call is a fax or voice call.
Manual The connected telephone rings when the machine receives both fax and
voice calls. Fax calls must be answered manually. If <MAN/AUTO
SWITCH> is set to <ON>, faxes can be received automatically. (See <5.
MAN/AUTO SWITCH> of “Menu Descriptions,” on p. 8-5.)
2. USER SETTINGS The basic operation settings in the Fax mode can be specified.
1. TEL LINE SETTINGS Specifies the telephone line settings.
1. UNIT TEL NUMBER Your fax/telephone number can be registered within 20 digits, including
spaces. (See “Registering Your Fax/Telephone Number and Name,” on
p. 2-5.)
2. TEL LINE TYPE Selects the telephone line type. (See “Setting the Telephone Line Type,
on p. 2-6.)
TOUCH TONE The telephone line is set for touch tone dialing.
ROTARY PULSE The telephone line is set for rotary pulse dialing.
3. TX START SPEED Sets the transmission speed for all documents you send.
