Fast Print Speed
◆ Most printers in this class achieve higher
resolutions but must sacrifice speed. The
i560 delivers up to 22 ppm in black and
white and 15 ppm in color while the i860
offers 23 ppm in black and white and 16
ppm in color.
◆ Photo prints at 8.5 x11˝ are output on
plain paper in 90 seconds, while a 4 x6˝ is
output in under 48 seconds—comparable
to much more expensive photo printers.
◆ Faster print speeds are also a result of
Canon’s “relay paper feeding” process as
well as bi-directional printing technology.
This continuous print process creates
fast, efficient paper handling especially
when printing multi-page documents.
◆ Bi-directional printing allows for one pass
of the print head and by firing more
nozzles faster they can achieve large
swaths while printing, such as printing
three lines of black text in one pass.
FEATURES
4-Color 4800-dpi Bubble Jet Printers
The i560 and i860 set the standard for performance in mid-range ink jet
printing. They feature high-resolution four-color printing at 4800 x 1200
dpi with droplets as small as 2 picoliters. Extremely fast, they can pro-
duce 4 x 6˝ borderless photos in 48 seconds (as well as 5 x7˝ and
8.5x11˝ borderless prints). Separately, the i860 offers ContrastPLUS, an
advanced five-color ink system for amazing photo-realism. Both printers
also feature PIctBridge technology, allowing the direct printing of images
from any PictBridge enabled digital cameras. Combine this with archival
quality photo prints that last up to 25 years without fading and you have
ideal printers for printing photos - at top speeds.
i860 Step-Up Features
◆ The i860 incorporates both a 2 picoliter
and 5 picoliter size droplet into a high
density 1,856 multi-nozzle print head to
produce fast, consistent, detailed images
with smooth gradations, accurate skin
tones and rich, vibrant colors that bring
photos to life.
◆ ContrastPLUS ink system delivers the
best of both worlds: exceptional black
textquality with pigment-based black ink,
and TRUE 4-color photo printing with
photo black ink for improved image con-
trast and overall photo sharpness.
◆ Load BOTH plain paper and photo paper
into the i860, and easily switch between
the two. A convenient photo paper tray
holds any of Canon’s high quality border-
less 4 x 6 photo papers.
◆ Adding to the flexibility, efficiency and
high performance of the i860 printer is
an optional auto duplex printing unit
(DPU-10) that automatically reroutes the
page for properly formatted two-sided
printing. Both timesaving and paper sav-
ing, the Auto Duplex feature also allows
for a wider printable area than competi-
tive duplex-capable printers.
◆ Also, an optional high volume, 250 sheet
paper feed cassette (PFC-10) attaches to
the base of the i860 to increase paper
load capacity to 400 sheets at a time.
