5 Self Diagnosis
5.1 Outline
The microprocessor on the DADF’s ADF controller PCB is equipped with a function to
check the condition of the machine. When it detects a fault, it will communicate the fact to
the copier in the form of a code. The communication may be any of the following three,
which may be checked by referring to the Original Set indicator or LED2 on the ADF con-
troller PCB.

Flashing at intervals of 240 msec
Flashing at intervals of 160 msec
Flashing at intervals of 80 msec
LED2 indication (code)
Not used

An alarm code or a jam may be checked in the copier’s service mode. In response to a
fault, the copier’s display will indicate its presence in the form of an error code.
