transmission of PPS-MPS
Cause Remedy
• The page buffer of the other device is full or is
in use and, although RNR has been received
after transmission of PPS-MPS, an acknowledge
signal cannot be received properly after transmis-
sion of RR.
1. Turn the setting of 'CUSTOM FAX SETTINGS >
TX SETTINGS > ECM TX' to 'OFF'.
2. Lower the setting of 'CUSTOM FAX SETTINGS >
SYSTEM SETTINGS > TX START SPEED'.

Cause Remedy
• The condition of the line is poor and, Although
PPR has been received four times after transmis-
sion of PPS-MPS and CTC has been transmitted,
the other party cannot receive the signal properly.

sion of PPS-MPS, an acknowledge signal cannot
be received after transmission of CTC.
• Raise the transmission level of the modem using
parameter 07 of #2 MENU so that the other
device may receive CTC properly.
• Ask the transmission level of the other device to
ensure correct reception of signals.

EOM (acknowledge signal not received)
Cause Remedy
• The condition of the line is poor, and the other
device cannot receive PPS-EOM properly.
• The condition of the line is poor, and signals
cannot be received properly.
1. Raise the transmission level of the modem using
parameter 07 of #2 MENU so that the other
device may receive PPS-EOM properly.
2. Adjust the NL equalizer using parameter 05 of
#2 MENU so that the other device may receive
PPS-EOM properly.
3. Attach an echo protect tone to the V.29 modem
signal using bit 1 of SW03 of #1 SSSW.
• Request the other party to raise the transmission
level of the other device.
