#005 (transmission/reception) initial identification (T0/T1) time-over
Cause Action
• The tone/pulse setting is wrong.
• The time that passes before a connection to
the other party is made is too long.
• The other device does not respond.
• The acknowledgment signal cannot be detect-
ed after transmission of the DIS signal.
• The communication mode of the other device
does not mach.
• The second ring does not arrive for transmis-
sion to F Net.
1. During transmission, the other device malfunc-
tions because of an echo.
2. During reception, the device malfunctions
because of an echo.
• Set the tone/pause settings correctly.
1. Put a longer pause when setting auto dial so
as to delay the start of the timer.
2. Put a delay to the T1 timer using 10 of #3
NUMERIC Param. so as to avoid time-over.
• Contact the other party to find out the cause.
• Put a delay to the T1 timer (reception) using
11 of #3 NUMERIC Param. so as to avoid
time-over.
• Each model may use a different communica-
tion mode.

Cause Remedy
• Recording paper jammed.
• Recording paper has run out.
• A fault exists in the internal mechanism.
• Remove the jam.
• Set recording paper.
1. Check the actuator of the upper cassette deliv-
ery sensor (Q1604)/lower cassette delivery
sensor (Q1605) for damage and deformation.
2. Provide measures against feeding problems
described in the Service Manual of the host
copier.
3. Replace the pick-up unit circuit.
4. Replace the DC controller PCB.
