Basics of the Scanner
eCourier works with approved scanners from Capitol Bank.
How the Scanner Captures an Image
Most check scanners capture an image of both sides of the check in a single pass. They also
capture all data from the check including the MICR line, account & routing numbers, payee,
signature, amount, date, and endorsements.
Supported scanners include Courtesy Amount Recognition (CAR) and Legal Amount Recognition
(LAR) capabilities that read the customer’s handwriting and automatically inputs the dollar amount
of each check into the deposit. The scanned deposit total should be verified prior to submitting it
to us.
Note: Scanners should be placed at least 18 inches from other electronic equipment.
