Bundled ArcSoft PhotoImpression Software
ArcSoft PhotoImpression is an easy-to-use photo editing and cre-
ative design program that gives you the best of several ArcSoft
offerings. Edit and retouch your photos by adjusting the bright-
ness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness, or tone. Then apply spe-
cial effects: sketch, ripple, wrinkle, splash, mosaic, 3D grid, ribbon,
magic mirror, or emboss. Or place your images in cards, calendars,
frames and fantasy templates. PhotoImpression also includes sev-
eral printing options for single or multiple photos, including the
ability to print entire albums of thumbnail images. Additional fea-
tures include multiple layers, editable text and Red-Eye Removal.
Text Enhancement Technology and Auto Area Segmentation
Supports Text Enhancement Technology and Auto Area Segmentation for additional control
when scanning text documents and mixed/text graphics documents.
◆ Text Enhancement Technology (TET): Improves recognition accuracy when you are scan-
ning a document to be processed using OCR software which will convert the scanned
image into a text document on your computer. TET has two major advantages, it accurate-
ly recognizes text on a colored background, as well as text surrounded by “noise”.
◆ Auto Area Segmentation (AAS): This feature is ideal when scanning a document that con-
tains both text and images that you wish to fax or print. It produces readable text and
improved image quality in a binary (black and white) scan.
Epson ColorTrue Imaging System
Encompasses three main elements for superior image quality and faster processing speeds.
• Hardware: Uses a precise scan carriage with a high quality motor to achieve sub- scan reso-
lutions that are double or quadruple the scanner's optical resolution.
• Optics: Uses custom glass lenses offering better reflective qualities
• Processing: Produce truer image quality with pixel optimization, where the full resolution
of the CCD is used, even when scanning at a lesser resolution.
