4000 dpi 35mm and Medium Format Film Scanner
A high-resolution, medium-format film scanner, the ArtixScan 120TF delivers
professional quality scans of negative and positive 35mm film and strips as
well as 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 and 6x9 cm film formats. It produces high quality
output with a dynamic range up to 3.9 (4.2 D-max), and true optical
resolution of 4000 dpi. It features outstanding shadow detail, optical
sharpness (fine lines and image detail), and exceptional dark noise
performance. It is also extremely fast, producing a high resolution 6 x 6cm
scan in under two minutes. It offers both a SCSI and Firewire (IEEE1394)
interface, and includes three different film holders. Last, it comes packaged
with an incredible array of software including LaserSoft’s SilverFast HDR and Genuine Fractals.
Superb Quality Scans
◆ True optical resolution of 4000 dpi shows
incredible fine lines and image detail
within each scan -- you can actually read
newspaper print and see the serifs within
the text, or see individual lashes from a
person's eye! Even a low-resolution scan
is able to produce superior image detail.
◆ Also allows you to extract the maximum
information from an image with 14-bit per
channel analog-to-digital conversion.
◆ Dark performance in shadows is directly
related to optical density, so the higher
the Dmax, the more detail you will be
able to see in the shadows. With a dynam-
ic range up to 3.9 (4.2 DMax), the
ArtixScan 120
TF will provide excellent
shadow detail.
◆ Dark areas are almost “noise-free”.
Especially important when you are trying
to create enlargements from the original
image. Noise will typically appear in the
black areas of the image as small white
spots. The noise can actually make the
black in the image appear gray.

either native RGB or LCH (Lightness, Chroma, Hue) color spaces. More intuitive color

ors from old media. SCC (Selective Color Correction) permits you to selectively change
colors in up to four places on the scan. SC2G (Selective Color To Grey) enables a con-
trolled change of color to grey. Control details and highlights for greater contrast. GANE
(Grain and Noise Elimination) reduces magnitude of film grain or any other abnormalities.
MidPip4 allows the removal of color cast in up to four points.

Multi-Format Flexibility and Professional Film Holders
◆ TheArtixScan 120TF is capable of handling all medium format transparencies —
6 x 4.5, 6 x 6, 6 x 7, 6 x 9 — single images or strips, positive and negative. It can also scan
35mm slides and film strips both positive and negative.
◆ The scanner includes three robust film holders: one for medium format films, one for
35mm slides (4 images), and one for 35mm strips (6 images). The medium format holder
can hold 6 x 4.5 and 6 x 6
(4 images), 6 x 7 (3) and 6 x 9cm (2 images).
◆ Automatic advancement of the six-image 35mm film strip and four-image 35mm slides
allows maximum functionality and flexibility, which means increased productivity for you.
