4.MAINTENANCE
Unplug the power cord from the outlet
before removing the dirt container.
Under normal circumstances, the only
maintenance your Utility Vac requires is
emptying the dirt container as required,
and periodically cleaning the cloth filter.
To empty the dirt container:
1) Remove the container by lifting up on
the latches on each side of the
container and lifting them off the hooks.
Do not let the bucket drop.
2) Dump the contents into a trash can or
garbage bag. Perform this step
outdoors.
3) Replace the dirt container, aligning
the latches on the side hooks and line-
up the container to the bottom seal.
Secure the latches by pushing them
downward.
To clean the filter:
1) Remove the container by lifting up on
the latches on each side of the
container and lifting them off the hooks.
Do not let the bucket drop.
2) Place a plastic garbage bag over the
main body below the filter and secure.
3) Using the plastic bag to keep your
hand clean, shake the filter to cause
dust particles to fall into the bag. (4-2)
Discard the bag.
4) Replace the dirt container, aligning
the latches on the side hooks and line-
up the container to the bottom seal.
Secure the latches by pushing them
downward.
In severe conditions such as
vacuuming drywall dust, etc.,
removing the filter and properly
cleaning will ensure optimum
performance of your Utility-Vac.
5) To remove the cloth filter, grasp the
tab and pull towards the middle of the
unit.
6) Take the filter to a trash bin and
shake to remove dust particles. Perform
this step outdoors.
7) To replace the cloth filter, you must
decrease the circumference of the filter
by pulling one side towards the center
to create form the filter into the shape
shown in 4-5.
8) Place the filter back into the unit and
let the filter snap outward into the
groove in the canister body.
Lubrication
The motor is equipped with sealed
bearings that contain sufficient
lubrication for the life of the motor. The
addition of lubrication could cause
damage. Do not add lubrication to the
motor bearings.
IMPORTANT!
Make sure the cloth filter is fitting
properly and securely into the
groove so it will not come loose
when the machine is turned on.
Failure to do so could damage the
motor and void your warranty.
