START UP
The fan has a cord and grounded plug. Plug the fan into a 115 volt socket. Pull the switch chain to turn on the fan and inspect the following.
1. Air flow direction.
2. Excessive vibration.
3. Unusual noise.
Pull the switch chain again to lower the fan speed. When the fan is operating at the lowest speed, pull the switch chain again to turn
the fan off.
This fan series is provided with magnets on the shutters to prevent flapping and to hold them closed tightly when not operating.
The fan should always start on the first speed to open the shutters then can be operated on lower speed.
If a problem appears, shut off or unplug the fan immediately and refer to the troubleshooting section to check the cause of the
problem.
The fan should be inspected after 30 minutes, 8 hours and 24 hours of operation to ensure all fasteners are tightened properly.
PRE-START INSPECTION
1. Ensure the guard and louvers are installed properly. Open the louvers see if they are operative.
2. Lock out all power sources.
3. Confirm power source voltage and motor voltage (115V) are the same.
4. Inspect that the fan is properly installed, and proper seal is applied around the wall opening.
