APPENDIX A. TROUBLESHOOTING
A-12
or device, DlsMgr may be attempting
communication with the wrong device.
The third can indicate that DlsMgr is retrying
operations before the previous one completes.
This usually indicates that the retry periods
specified in the Net Description are too short.
Otherwise, operations are taking longer than the
should and there may be other communication
problems.
A.4.1 RTM MESSAGES
'08-18-94 15:21:42','W','PC1','PC1',
'RTM:StripChart, Data TimeStamp greater
than System Time'
RTM strip charts cannot display data properly
because the datalogger clock is ahead of the
computer clock.
The current time displayed on the strip chart will
also be shown in red.
Section 3 contains additional information and
RTM messages.
A.4.2 DBSELECT MESSAGES
'08-18-94 15:05:16','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Acked Pipe Name set to
\PIPE\RTMS'
'08-18-94 15:05:16','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Non Acked Pipe Name set to
\PIPE\RTMA'
'08-18-94 15:05:16','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Background modules will get
INIs from C:\RTMS\'
'08-18-94 15:05:16','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Will get INIs from
C:\RTMS\DATA\'
'08-18-94 15:05:16','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Unacknolwaged Named Pipe,
\PIPE\RTMA Server Waiting for connection'
'08-18-94 15:05:24','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT ASCII files Enabled'
The above messages indicate the selections
made with the DBSelect menus. DBSelect
gives these type of messages when it is started
or when a selection is changed.
'08-18-94 15:05:27','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Advise Started 0'
DBSelect has requested the data it needs from
DlsMgr.
'08-18-94 15:06:00','W','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT table wraparound in
CR10T.One_min'
A table in a datalogger has the record number
go from a large number to a smaller one. This
indicated that the datalogger was
reprogrammed (with the same table names) or
the table numbers reached the largest possible
record number and then wrapped around to
one. The record number would probably only
wrap around on fast tables or where the
datalogger has been running with program
change for a long time.
'08-18-94 15:09:23','W','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Data Base Will be collecting
Data and Not Storing or Exporting it'
DBSelect has been started and updated but no
data destination (ASCII files or Named Pipe)
has been specified. This should be corrected,
as data will not be stored or recollected
automatically!
'08-18-94 15:09:49','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Baling Begin'
'08-18-94 15:09:54','S','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Baling End'
DBSelect has moved data files from the
SHADOW directory to the data directory. This
is done on the user-specified interval. This is
normal when ASCII files are in use. See
Section 7 of the RTMS manual for information
on baling of files.
'08-18-94 15:09:51','F','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT Non data file in SHADOW
directory Q.BAK'
'08-18-94 15:09:51','F','PC1','PC1',
'DBSELECT DosDelete
d:\BIN\BCAHAGBG.000 returned 5'
These messages indicate error conditions. The
first is that a file that is not a DBSelect data file
was found in the SHADOW directory. Users
should not access the SHADOW directory or
