OBS-3+ and OBS300 Suspended Solids and Turbidity Monitors
sediment, plankton, bacteria and viruses, organic acids, and dyes. In general,
as the concentration of suspended matter increases, so will water turbidity, and
as the concentration of dissolved light-absorbing matter increases, turbidity
will decrease.
Turbidity (operational definition): NTU value is a number ranging from 0 to
10,000 that is computed by a turbidimeter from measurements of the intensity
of light scattered from water sample and by interpolation between bracketing
SDVB (AMCO Clear
®
) calibration values.
