3.2.5 Step 5: Configuring Port Settings
Select 19200 bits per second (Baud rate) if you are using a modem set at 19200 Baud,
which is recommended for the CR800 series, the CR1000, and CR3000 dataloggers
(Figure 8). Set the Flow Control to “None”. Note that the modems by default are set
to autobaud. Click Apply, and then click OK.
The datalogger being used at the remote station will dictate which baud
rate will be used. For example, if you are using a CR10X, then you will
set the modem to 9600 Baud.

3.2.6 Step 6: Hyperterminal Communications
Once you have clicked OK you should be connected to the modem (Figure 9). The
counter in the bottom left hand corner of the screen will inform you that you are
connected and begin counting up from 0.
