Assembly Instructions Step 1 - Unpacking the Grill •Open the Carton •Cut the sides of your carton and fold down as shown. •Remove The contents from the grill. •Remove all packing materials from inside the grill. •Set the Grill Body aside for later use. •Use the Packing Blocks to support the grill until ready to assemble. NOTICE: Be careful and do not set the Grill Body on the Manifold Extension. Bending or damaging this connection can make the grill unusable.
STEP 2 - Assemble the Pedestal •With Base upside down, screw Caster Assembly (Item 28) into Caster mounting hole. Rotate clockwise to tighten. •Place Base right side up. •Using Locating Bolts, position half of the Pedestal onto Base and secure into place with 2 M6 X15 bolts as shown. No nuts are required. (Item 37) M6 X 15mm Actual Size 6 Pcs. •Assemble other half of Pedestal to Base.
Step 2 - Continued •Attach Cylinder Retaining Wire (Item 26) through hole in back of Pedestal as shown in detail. STEP 3 - Assemble the Grill Body •CAUTION: TWO PEOPLE REQUIRED! •Make sure contents of grill have been removed for easy lifting. •Place Body on Pedestal. •Note: The Regulator and Hose should be hanging down inside the pedestal. •Carefully Open Hood Caution: Do not leave grill unattended until bolts are secured.

Fig. 3A •From the inside of the grill, secure Body to Pedestal using 4 M6 X 15 screws through the holes as shown above in Fig. A, securing with 4 M6 nuts from below as shown to the right in Fig. B. Fig. 3B STEP 4 - Install Heat Shield WARNING! The Heat Shield must be installed to protect the Cylinder and regulator Hose from the high temperatures of the grill.
STEP 5 - Install Grease Tray •Place Foil Pan (Item 32) in Grease Tray (Item 33) and slide Grease Tray all the way into brackets. STEP 6 - Assemble Handle and Side Tables •With Handle (Item 2) positioned as shown, place felt Handle Spacer (Item 4) between Handle and Hood, then insert locating pin into top holes of Spacer and Hood. Secure Handle in place with M5 X 15mm (Item 3) bolt through bottom hole. Locating Pin Item3 M5 X 15mm Actual Size 1 Pc.
STEP 6 Continued - Assemble Side Tables Item 20 M6 X 30mm Actual Size 8 Pcs Item 29 M6 Nut Actual Size 8 Pcs Item 1 Body Spacer Actual Size 8 Pcs Notice: The control panel cover can be opened by gently pulling down on the top of the cover. To Assemble Side Tables: •From inside grill body, insert M6 X 30mm bolts through holes in the side panel of the grill Body and the Body Spacers into the Side Table, securing with nuts from the underside of the Side Table.
STEP 7 - INSTALL BURNERS •Remove plastic covering from Burners(3) and remove Cotter Pins(3) from Burner Peg. •Fit venturi end of Burner through hole in the inside firewall of Body (behind Control Panel) and onto Gas Control Valve Nozzle (FIG. 6A.) Be careful not to bend or force Gas Collector Plates. Item 27 COTTER PIN •Place other end of Burner on lower shoulder of rear firewall so Burner Peg rests in Burner Locator Hole as shown ( FIG. 6B.
STEP 8 - INSTALL CERAMIC BRIQUETTE TRAYS/ COOKING GRIDS COOKING GRIDS •Remove plastic completely from two Ceramic Briquette Trays (Item 36). Place Briquette Trays side by side on middle shoulder of front and rear firewall over the Burners. •Place three Cooking Grids side by side on upper shoulder of front and rear firewall over the Ceramic Briquette Trays. CERAMIC BRIQUETTES TRAYS STEP 9 - ATTACH LP CYLINDER TO GRILL •Fill empty OPD LP Cylinder at your local LP gas supplier.
Step 10 - LEAK TESTING (TO BE PERFORMED IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA) • Perform a leak test before each use. • Leak test must be performed in a well ventilated area. • Never perform a leak test on a grill while in use or hot. • If you detect a gas leak that cannot be corrected by using the leak test procedures below, do not use the LP gas grill. • Never smoke or have an open flame near the grill during a leak test. • Insure Regulator Hose does not contact hot metal surfaces.
OPERATING AND MAINTAINING YOUR GAS GRILL GAS, CYLINDER, HOSE AND REGULATOR INFORMATION • I f you obtain LP gas through a cylinder exchange dealer, make sure you are getting a safe and adequate OPD cylinder. Use only a licensed LP gas cylinder dealer. This LP gas grill was designed to use propane gas. Propane cylinders will supply gas all year round, even on cold winter days. • Keep children away from LP gas cylinder at all times.
Precautions • Never connect or disconnect LP gas cylinder or fittings while grill is in use or is hot. • When the LP gas cylinder is connected, the grill must be kept outside in a well-ventilated space. Turn off all of the grill control knobs and the LP cylinder valve when grill is not in use. • Move gas hose as far away as possible from hot surfaces.
LeakTesting OPERATING THE LP GAS GRILL · Always perform a leak test before each use. · Leak test must be performed in a well ventilated area. · Never perform a leak test on a grill while in use or hot. · If you detect a gas leak that cannot be corrected by using the leak test procedures below, do not use the LP gas grill. Call Customer Service at 1-800-251-7558. · Never smoke or have an open flame near the grill during a leak test.
Preparation Before Cooking · Wash the porcelain coated Cooking Grids with a mixture of hot water and soap. · Empty the foil pan and grease tray after each cooking session so excessive grease does not accumulate. Failure to remove grease may result in grease dripping onto the cart and/or a grease fire in the tray. Lighting the Grill Using the Integral Ignition System · Open Hood before lighting the grill to prevent an explosion from gas buildup.

Check Your Flame End of Cooking Session Your burners have been preset by the manufacturer for optimal flame performance. A blue flame, possibly with a small yellow tip, is the result of the optimal air and LP gas mixture. (See diagram below) · Never leave your LP gas grill unattended during use or cleaning. Yellow Tip After each cooking session, close the hood and turn the grill burners to the “high” position and burn for five minutes.
Burner Maintenance CARE AND MAINTENANCE (Continued) Regularly clean your LP gas grill between uses and especially after extended periods of storage. Ensure the grill and its components are cool before cleaning. In order to extend the life and maintain the condition of your grill, we strongly recommend that the unit be covered when stored outside for any length of time, especially during the winter months. · Check the LP gas grill for gas leaks and burner obstructions before each use.

IMPORTANT NOTICE The Gas Grill is setup to operate with a LP Gas Cylinder equipped with an OPD (Overfilling Prevention Device). (LP NOT SUPPLIED WITH GRILL) This is a secondary device to prevent the overfilling of your LP Gas cylinder. The proper methods for the filling of your LP Gas cylinder are by weight or volume, as described in NFPA 58. Please make sure your filling station fills your LP Gas cylinder by weight or volume.
Calphalon Grill LIMITED WARRANTY This product is warranted to the original consumer purchaser against defects in material and workmanship under normal outdoor household use and correct assembly (if assembled by the consumer-purchaser). Cast iron burners and porcelain grids are warranted for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. All other parts are warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.
