SECTION IV PHYSICAL DATA_____________________________________
BOILING POINT (C) : Not Applicable SPECIFIC GRAVITY: 1.03
VAPOR PRESSURE (mm Hg) <0.1 VOLATILE: <O.3% by wt.
VAPOR DENSITY (Air=1) Not Applicable EVAPORATION RATE: < 1
SOLUBILITY IN WATER: Not Soluble (Butyl Acetate + 1)
APPEARANCE AND ODOR: Yellowish viscous liquid with mild odor.
SECTION V REACTIVITY HAZARD DATA________________________
STABLITY: This material is stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Excessive heat ignition sources and contamination with dirt and other foreign
materials.
INCOMBATABILITY: Avoid contamination or inappropriate mixing with strong oxidizing agents, peroxides,
strongly caustic materials and metal corrosion products including rust.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Thermal oxidations or prolysis (as in fire) may yield
carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and volatile organic
fragments which are flammable, irritating or toxic.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Under certain conditions hazardous polymerization may occur.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: High temperatures, contamination with foreign materials and loss of
inhibitor activity.
SECTION VI SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES______________________
STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Remove all sources of
ignition, ventilate area. Avoid skin and eye contact. Use respiratory protection. Absorb with inert
Materials such as dry clay or sand and place in cold container for disposal as solid waste. For large
spills, dike area to prevent spreading and transfer liquid to suitable containers for disposal. Then wash
away residual material thoroughly. Prevent runoff to storm sewers and ditches leading to natural
waterways. Advise authorities of spill.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Incineration recommended. Dispose of as solid industrial waste (non-
hazardous) in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
SECTION VII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION__________________
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Below permissible exposure limits none is required. Above exposure
limits, use NIOSH approved respirators for organic vapors or approved
self-contained breathing apparatus.
VENTILATION: General room ventilation or local exhaust is required to maintain vapors below
exposure limits.
SKIN PROTECTION: Rubber gloves are required. Protective or discardable outer clothing is recommended.
EYE PROTECTION: Safety goggles or glasses with splash shields are required. Full-face shield is
recommended. Do not wear contact lenses.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Eye bath and safety drench showers are recommended.
