The F41661A kit allows retrofitting existing Caleffi DirtCal
®
brass 5462 series
dirt separators with magnetic belt for removing ferrous impurities. This can be
accomplished without removing the DirtCal
®
from the hydronic system piping.

Function
Installation
1) Isolate existing 5462
(or shut off system pump).
2) Remove garden hose thread cap.
3) Open 5462 blow-down valve to
relieve and drain water in housing.
4) Unscrew lower housing of existing
5462 DdirtCal.

5) Remove lower housing.
6) Inspect/clean coalescing element
as needed. Observe feet down
position of coaslescing element.

7) Position coalescing element on
new F41661A.

8) Insert and tighten.
9) Close flush valve.
10) Attach garden hose thread cap.
11) Open isolation valves (or turn on
pump).
