A balancing valve is a hydraulic device that regulates the fl ow rate of
the fl uid passing through it. The fl ow rate is regulated by means of a
knob that controls the movement of a plug that allows the passage
of the fl uid. The fl ow rate is determined according to the Δp value
measured by two pressure connectors located on the valve.

The 130 series valves are equipped with a fl ow rate measurement
device based on the Venturi effect. The device is incorporated in
the body of the valve upstream of the valve plug, as shown in the
fi gure below.
