1082 Sharing your songs on SoundCloud
The Cakewalk SoundCloud interface
from SoundCloud.
Make track private. When you upload a track to SoundCloud, you have two options for how
you want to share it with other users. By default, your audio file is “public”, which means
anyone can listen to your track. If you prefer to have complete control over who has access to
your tracks and who doesn't, select the Make track private option. A “private” track is only
available to specific users you give access to.
Message. Add a short message to accompany song posts on Facebook and Twitter. If this field
is empty, the text in the Description field will accompany the song post. Your message can be up
to 119 characters. HTML is not supported in the Message.
Sharing Options. When you upload a song to SoundCloud, you can choose to also send
automatic “push” notifications to your linked Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. You must
configure your Facebook and/or Twitter setting using the account management tools at
SoundCloud.com first before being able to share on Facebook and/or Twitter. The following
sharing options are available:
Share on Facebook. Enable this option to share your sounds on your Facebook profile.
The name of the primary connected Facebook account is shown next to the Setup link. If
selected, the Make track private option will be disabled when you share on Facebook.
Setup. Click to configure access to your Facebook account using the account
management tools at SoundCloud.com.
Share on Twitter. Enable this option to share your sounds on your Twitter profile. The name
of the primary connected Twitter account is shown next to the Setup link. If selected, the
Make track private option will be disabled when you share on Twitter.
Setup. Click to configure access to Twitter using the account management tools at
SoundCloud.com.
Share. Click to upload the audio file to SoundCloud.
Cancel. Close Cakewalk SoundCloud without uploading the selected sound.
Help. Launch the SoundCloud online Help.
Note: You can not share a track on Facebook or Twitter if the track is private.
Note 1: You may be able to assign additional tag information to your audio files at http://
soundcloud.com.
Note 2: If you have multiple Facebook and/or Twitter accounts that you would like to send push
notifications to, you can link to multiple Facebook and Twitter accounts via the account
management tools at SoundCloud.com. Additional sharing options are also available on
SoundCloud.com, including posting to YouTube, MySpace and more.
