Step 5: Adjust Flow Control Rate
a. Turn the flow control knob to the oxygen flow rate (LPM)
prescribed by your physician.
To adjust ow rate:
Turn counter-clockwise to increase ow.
Turn clockwise to decrease ow.
The middle of the ball indicates ow rate. The image below
indicates a ow rate of 4.0 LPM
WARNING: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SELECT ONLY THE
PRESCRIBED LEVEL OF OXYGEN. DO NOT CHANGE THE
FLOW SELECTION UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO DO
SO BY A LICENSED CLINICIAN. THE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR MAY BE
USED DURING SLEEP UNDER THE RECOMMENDATION OF A QUALI
FIED CLINICIAN.
Step 6: Verify Flow and Breathe Normally
a. Verify that oxygen is indeed flowing through the nasal
cannula and that there are no kinks, bends, or blockages in the
tubing.
Note: Ensure the cannula is fully inserted and secure. You should hear or
feel oxygen ow to the prongs of the nasal cannula.
b. Properly position your nasal cannula and breathe normally
through the nasal cannula.
