ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Improperconnectionofaluminumhousewiringtocopperleadscanresultinanelectricalhazard
orfire.Useonlyconnectorsdesignedforjoiningcoppertoaluminumandfollowthemanufacturer’srecommended
procedureclosely.
Werecommendyouhavetheelectricalwiringandhookupofyourapplianceconnectedbyaqualifiedelectrician.
Afterinstallation,havetheelectricianshowyouhowtodisconnectpowerfromtheappliance.
Youmustuseasingle-phase,120/208VACor120/240VAC,60Hertzelectricalsystem.Ifyouconnectto
aluminumwiring,properlyinstalledconnectorsapprovedforusewithaluminumwiringmustbeused.
EffectiveJanuary1,1996,theNationalElectricalCoderequiresthatnewconstruction(notexisting)utilizeafour-
conductorconnectiontoanelectricoven.Wheninstallinganelectricoveninnewconstruction,amobilehome,
recreationalvehicleoranareawherelocalcodesprohibitgroundingthroughtheneutralconductor,refertothe
sectiononfour-conductorbranchcircuitconnections.
Checkwithyourlocalutilitiesforelectricalcodeswhichapplyinyourarea.Failuretowireyourovenaccording
togoverningcodescouldresultinahazardouscondition.Iftherearenolocalcodes,yourovenmustbewired
andfusedtomeettheNationalElectricalCode,NFPANo.70–latestedition,availablefromtheNationalFire
ProtectionAssociation.
