Do I need a single pole or a double pole thermostat for this heater?
Certain regions may require a single pole or a double pole thermostat to be installed with an electric
heater, depending on the local electrical and building codes. Always refer to local codes or consult
with a licensed/certified electrician. The UCH heater can be installed with either a single pole or a
double pole thermostat. A single pole thermostat allows temperature control down to a low position,
whereas a double pole thermostat provides the capability to turn the power OFF to the heater, as
well as temperature control.
How is the thermostat kit installed?
Refer to the UCHT thermostat kit installation instructions that are included in the packaging.
Why does my heater smell when it runs for the first time?
Certain components of the heater, such as the heating elements, have residual oil on their surface
from the manufacturing process. When the heater is operated for the first time, this residual oil burns
and evaporates, resulting in a temporary smell. After installation, turn the thermostat for your UCH
heater to the highest setting and let it run for at least 30 minutes.
