1.8 Regulatory Compliance
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant
to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction
manual, may cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at
his own expense.
2. Chapter 2: Introduction Overview of PSTNsimulator
2.1 Functional Overview
PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) Simulator provides an analog and digital* call
switching services eliminating the expense of the real phone lines for testing or demonstrating
devices that require analog (FXS) and digital (T1/E1/PRI) interfaces. PSTN Simulator gives access to the
rich set of congurable parameters from electrical to line impairments making it a valuable tool for telecom
designers and developers.
PSTN simulator comes with xed number of analog (FXS) loops start ports allowing to connects up to 16
analog telephone sets for full non-blocking switching among any of the ports.
Simulators equipped with T1/E1/PRI module can be used for making calls between analog and
T1/E1/PRI ports. Latest versions or simulators can support PRI and CAS signaling on T1/E1 ports.
