APPN Information View
To access: Select Configuration from the Icon Subviews menu. This view
contains twelve fields and five buttons leading to more detailed
views. The twelve fields provide global information for APPN nodes
that applies to both network nodes and end nodes.
Node CntlPtName The administratively assigned network CP (control point) name for this node
in the format NETID.CPNAME.
Node NetId The administratively assigned APPN network identification, one to eight
characters long. This identifier is used together with the control point name
to create a fully qualified control point name.
Node BlockNum The block number, which is the first three digits of the node id. These hex
digits identify the product and are not configurable.
Node IdNum The last five digits of the node id. These five Hex digits are administratively
assigned and combined with the Node BlockNum to provide the node id. This
id is used to identify the local node and is included in XIDs (eXchange
IDentifiers) and APPN alerts. A unique node id is required for connections to
SNA sub-area.
Node Type The type of APPN node; NetworkNode, EndNode or a LEN (Low Entry
Network) end node.
Node UpTime The time, in hundredths of a second, since this APPN node was initialized.
Node NegotLs This field indicates whether the node supports negotiable link stations.
Node SegReasm This field indicates whether the node supports segment reassembly. Segment
reassembly is only supported when segment generation is also supported.
Node BindReasm This field indicates whether the node supports bind segment reassembly.
Bind segment reassembly is only supported when Bind segment generation
is also supported.
Node ParallelTg This field indicates whether the node supports parallel TGs (Transmission
Groups).
