up
Sets the state of the interface to up. (This is the default state.)
down
Sets the state of the interface to down.
output-mac-encapsulation
The output MAC encapsulation associated with this interface. You can specify one of
the following:
ethernet_ii (the default)
ethernet_snap
ethernet_802.2_ipx
mac-addr <MACaddr-spec>
Sets the MAC address for this interface. You can specify one of the following:
A specific MAC address – specify the entire MAC address as follows:
xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
An offset from the base MAC address in the pool – specify the offset. For example,
to specify an offset of 10 from the base MAC address, enter “10”. For example, if
the base MAC address is 00:E0:63:02:00:00 and you specify an offset of 10, the SSR
assigns MAC address 00:E0:63:02:00:0A to the interface.
The base MAC address – specify the basemac keyword. This is the default.
Restrictions
None.
Examples
The following commands create a VLAN called IPX10, add all the ports on the line card in
slot 1 to the VLAN, and create an IPX interface called
int10” with the IPX address
a98d7c6f, associated with VLAN IPX10.
ssr(config)# vlan create IPX10 ipx
ssr(config)# vlan add ports et.1.* to IPX10
ssr(config)# interface create ipx int10 address a98d7c6f vlan IPX10
