The SPECTRUM Model
SPECTRUM uses the following model types to
represent the supported devices and their
components.
• ForeRunner (9A000, ForeASX200, etc.)
• ForeSwitchApp
• ATM_Network
• ForeUserApp
Modeling results in the creation of Device icons
that represent the devices and Application icons
that represent their supported applications.
The Device icons contain double-click zones and
provide access to Icon Subviews menus that let
you perform device management activities such
as those listed in Tasks on Page 13.
As Figure 1 through Figure 5 show, the
appearance of the Device icons varies slightly
depending on the kind of view it appears in.
The Workstation on Page 11 is modeled as a
generic SNMP device (GnSNMPDev).
ForeSwitchApp and ForeUserApp are located in
the ATM_Network’s Device Topology view. (Refer
to SPECTRUM Views for a description of the
Device Topology view.)
ForeRunner
The device models appear as routers at the
Topology, Universe, and Location (room, rack,
and panel) levels. Figure 1 shows an example of
the ForeRunner Topology and Location view
icons.
