IP Routing (IP2RtrApp) Application
IP Configuration View
IP Configuration View
This view provides configuration information for the router’s IP process. It
also allows you to change some of the IP configuration parameters. The IP
Configuration view provides the following information:
Time to Live
The default Time to Live value, in seconds, as found in the IP header of
datagrams, given that a Time to Live value was not provided by the transport
layer protocol.
Re-Assembles Time-out
The maximum number of seconds IP datagram fragments are held by the
router while awaiting reassembly.
Table 5-4. IP Routing Detail Error Breakdown
Statistic Definition
Header IP Routing packets received containing packet header errors
(time-to-live exceeded, version number mismatch, bad
checksum, etc.).
Address IP Routing packets received and discarded due to invalid
addresses in the header’s destination field.
Table 5-5. IP Routing Detail Discard Breakdown
Statistic Definition
No Routes The number of IP Routing packets discarded because the
router did not know where to forward them.
Unknown Unknown IP Routing packet types received.
In Discards Received IP Routing packets discarded, even though no errors
were encountered to prevent their continued processing. Such
packets may have been discarded to increase buffer space.
Out Discards Transmitted IP Routing packets discarded, even though no
errors were encountered to prevent their continued
processing. Such packets may have been discarded to increase
buffer space.
Reassembly IP Routing packet fragments that experienced reassembly
failures detected by the IP reassembly algorithm due to time
out, errors, etc.
Fragmentation IP Routing packets that could not be fragmented by the router
because their “Don’t Fragment” flag was set.
