Checking the Firmware Version

The procedure you use to check the ﬁrmware version depends on whether you

are checking a 9A000, SFCS, or ASX type device. Two methods are described

below. An example of the information that appears when you complete the

procedure is shown in Figure B-1.

Checking Firmware of 9A000 and SFCS Devices

Check the ﬁrmware version for each switch as follows:

1. From your console, telnet to the ForeRunner module.

2. Enter the password: ASX

3. At the prompt type: operation version

Checking Firmware of ASX Devices

Check the ﬁrmware version for each switch as follows:

1. From your console, telnet to the ForeRunner module.

2. Enter the password: ASX

3. At the prompt type: config switch

4. At the next prompt type: show
