DESCRIPTION Defines the specific type of interface
connection (BRIM etc.). Defines the
duplex mode in which the interface
is set to operate.
For devices that do not support this capability:
a read will return standard (2).
any write attempt will return BADVALUE.
fast ethernet devices will report other (1).
