SNMP Traps Screen
The SNMP Traps screen, shown in Figure 1-9, allows the user to configure the HSIM or
CyberSWITCH to send traps to as many as eight remote management workstations. SNMP traps
are messages about network events and device operational statistics. Access the SNMP Traps
screen from the Setup Menu screen by using the arrow keys to highlight the SNMP Traps option
and pressing ENTER. The SNMP Traps screen displays.

Trap Table Screen Fields
The following definitions explain each of the SNMP Traps screen fields:
Trap Destination — Use this field to enter the IP address of the management workstation
designated to receive SNMP traps from the HSIM or CyberSWITCH.
Trap Community Name — Use this field to enter the community name of the management
workstation with the associated IP address. The community name indicates the “access level” of
traps that will be forwarded to the Trap destination.
Enable Traps — Use this field to enable the transmission of SNMP traps to the management
workstation.
